A Revolution, An Evolution.
Pluto leaves Capricorn, and we ask: do you pronounce it Horoscope or Horror-scope?
In regards to horror-scopes (I never realized I pronounced it as such, until recently…) and astrology - we are not devout. We are merely lovers of stories, and so, many are written in the stars. They may not have the power to predict a fortune or entangle lovers, but they can guide a sailor across an ocean, inform our first calendar, and make us feel connected to a distant loved one gazing at the same sky - so who's to say they don’t provide direction, timing and even hope?
Friends, new and old, if you don’t know, we love the stars as a way to understand the world, understand ourselves, and understand - sometimes - the unexplainable.
I find it all to be fun and enchanting - not to mention, oddly satisfying to be on the outs with Pluto. That, and I surely cannot deny how Capricorn-y my Capricorn-ness is.
November 19th (TODAY!) marks the end of Pluto’s transition - the planet of death and destruction - in the sign of Capricorn - a sign known to represent all things masculine, patriarchal, financial, power, and authority. If you look up and out, it’s not hard to feel like we may be in that very moment of destruction.
As for us, we’re calling it a moment of -
Revolution and Evolution.
The Revolution
Across history (see below) each time Pluto transitions between Capricorn (traditional power structures) into Aquarius (breaking free from convention), there have been tectonic shifts in power, data, tech, science; and today holds that same promise.
A Brief Timeline: Pluto in Aquarius throughout history2008 - Present: U.S. financial crisis, #MeToo movement, Brexit, Roe V Wade overturn, tide-turning presidencies (Obama to Trump), COVID, BLM, climate
1777/8-1798: U.S., French, Haitian, and Industrial Revolutions; Age of Enlightenment, Capitalism enters the scene
1532 - 1553: King Henry breaks with the Catholic Church, forming the Church of England; Scientific Revolution
1041 - 1063: Byzantine Empire takes back modern-day Turkey, returning it to Christian rule after 400+ years of Islamic rule; “The Great Schism” - Christianity splits into 2 dominant ideologies informing the next period
795 - 819: Islamic Golden Age; marks the upcoming 400 years of Islamic control to be later overturned in the next transition
The Evolution
Amidst any Revolution, so too, exists a moment of personal evolution. For the past three years, we’ve been beating the drum: 🥁NEW STORIES🥁NEW SYSTEMS
Perhaps what has felt like a holding pattern at times, or a call out to an empty wilderness, was in fact just divine timing waiting to be realized.
Today’s transit breathes in a renewed sense of hope and optimism that perhaps, like us, you are feeling the call of, “Something has to change.” And, in the words of our dear friend and beloved creative, Kate Ryan Brewer, “Why not everything?” (listen here).
What does this mean? For us: Stories > Beliefs > Actions > Systems.
If this is a collective call to rewrite, rewire, reimagine the systems that run our lives, we are on mission to make sure that is done with as much feminine energy as humanly - and cosmically - possible.
Because we’ve promised to be where mindset meets mechanics, here are some journal and/or meditation prompts to marinate in over the next several days, weeks, months, years - we’ve got time. But also, the time is now.Define Inward: Secure your mask first.
How is my energy? Do I have enough? Do I want more? Where is it going? Am I experiencing my life/people/work in a way I’m proud of? Are they experiencing ME in a way I’m proud of?
We call this your Energy Budget. Manage it with the same intentionality, diligence, and confidence as a monetary one.
While it’s instinct to do, do, do. We’re here to tell you that is only hiding in the doing. You must first STOP and FEEL. It’s going to feel unnatural at first, and that’s how you know you’re doing it right.Create Outward: Put practices in place to re-stabilize
Looking around - micro and macro - take inventory of what is and isn’t working; and also what you can and cannot control. We’ll give you ours right now:I’m sad about the state of the world - can’t control
Too much news intake - not working, can control
Setting family boundaries - working, can only control my part
Cancelling meeting - working, can control
Things are moving too slow - can’t control
Doing too many things for free - not working, can control
Being ‘on’ all the time to work - not working, can control
Spending quality time with kids - working, can control
For what it’s worth, this is not rocket science. You may look at this list, and be like, “Yeah, you and every other person.” It doesn’t make it any less powerful. Most of us know this in our gut, but it’s been our brain telling us to just push through. But today, we are here to so loudly yell: Don’t do, FEEL!
For those things that are not working, it’s time to manage our budget by putting practices into place. As yourself as simple as, “What makes me feel joyful, good, happy, worthy?”
And, of those, what are within your control. And then do them - consistently. Even when things feel ‘better,’ keep doing them. No seriously, read it again - KEEP DOING THEM.
Carry Onward: Play to superpowers.
In a moment of revolution and evolution - it can be tempting to admire the problem. To dote on it, talk about it, put it on a pedestal so it’s just out of reach. You talk about it, but aren’t about it.
Perhaps we’re not ‘about it’ because it feels like we must do the big, shiny thing: Protest out loud, Eat/Pray/Love, Be the boss, Have a kid, Leave the relationship.
Maybe? But, we’re more of the belief that the big change only happens as a result of a thousand little ones.
Put simply, we believe that if every woman or individual can feel more “in their power” the collective will inevitably rise.
A Loving Call to Arms
To the bold souls committed to building a better world for themselves and others - from entrepreneurs and artists, to corporate leaders and engineers, from humanitarians and philanthropists, to community organizers and activists, from mothers, sisters, partners and friends to everything in between - this is our promise, our call, our narrative rewrite.
Together, let’s tell new stories. Let’s tell the stories of the people who boldly chased their dreams, embraced failure, redefined success, lived their values, and led by example.
This isn’t a sales pitch (or hell, for the right person, may be it is) but rather our promise to ourselves, humanity, and women in this moment of Revolution + Evolution.
Through the end of the year, we are offering free sessions for anyone looking to identify and use your superpower(s) for good.
You can grab time with 📅 K+K here. Looking at you, friend. Let’s tell your story.
